Small apartment of 45 sq.mt. with private balcony of 10 sq.mt. situated in Rome in the Monteverde district. The project of this apartment was a real challenge because of its irregularity .
The building had a very irregular and large space in the entrance area, used only as a disengagement, an only one bedroom and two separate kitchen and service.
The commissioner, a young lady, required a solution that would require a more functional use of this spaces and the possibility of forming a living area separated from the night one.
I decided to plan a studio in a portion of the disengagement and to shift the current service in the other portion of the same, so that she could have a separate bedroom from the living room. The structure of reinforced concrete pillars and simple partition walls has allowed this design choice.
The kitchen has become one open space toward the living area and has acquired character of informality and conviviality. The living areas were opened to the exterior balcony so to benefit both of its use.
In this way the whole space has also become brighter and more fluid.
